Aloe africana (Aloaceae) Uitenhage Aloe(e) Uitenhaagse aalwyn (a) Reaches up to 4m stems with dull green leaves that spreads and are recurved. The inflorescense is branched with flowers that vary from dull red to yellow-orange. Flowers appear in winter to spring. Sowing. Sow in a sandy, well-drained potting soil in a warm, shady position in standard seed trays. Germination takes about three weeks. Cover with a thin layer of sand (1 to 2 mm), keep moist and the seedlings can be planted out in individual bags or containers as soon as they are large enough to handle. Locality : Jeffreys bay. Harvest date : February 2018
