Acacia brevispica. Prickly Thorn (e), Driedorinkiedoring (a), umThathawe (z) Hardy, semi-deciduous, robust, prickly, climbing Acacia that can be trained into a large beautiful shrub. It has large, soft, bipinnate leaves with small hook thorns on the underside along the ribs. White puffball flowers are borne from Aug. to Oct. With its ornamental look it makes an ideal tree for a small garden and an ideal addition to a security hedge or used as a large shrub in an informal border. Attracts birds and insects to the garden. Size 1 to 8m. Locality of harvest: Pietersburg. Date of harvest: September 2016.
