Aptosimum lineare (Scrophulareaceae) Low growing perennial herb or subshrub, often forming compact, prostrate cushions, sometimes erect and tufted. Leaves linear-oblong to narrowly oblanceolate with glandular hairs, particularly on the upper surface. Flowers deep blue to violet, darker near the centre. Sowing : Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark to stop it from blowing away. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position. Locality : Maltahohe. Date of harvest : October 2017
