Description
Aloe striata (Aloaceae). Coral Aloe (e), Blouaalwyn (a), iKhala (z) Hardy, stemless Aloe with a large rosette of grey-green leaves with pink spineless margins. This Aloe has beautiful pinkish-red flowers that appear in late winter in a flattened mass at the top of the branching stems. It will grow in a normally irrigated garden in the sun provided the soil is well-drained. It is a lovely form plant and a great addition to any garden. It attracts birds and insects with its copious nectar. Mass plant or use simply as form plant, either way it is a stunning plant. Size 25 to 30cm. Sowing : Make sure the seeds receive enough moisture, heat and light to germinate well. Sow in springtime. Seeds take about 2 weeks to germinate. Locality : Somerset-east. Harvest : December 2022
