Description
Asclepias fruticosa (Asclepiadaceae). An erect shrub of up to 3m in height. The leaves are erect, glabrous to very finely pubescent. The flowers appear in early to mid summer followed by an inflated bristly green follicle. This variety has exceptionally large fruits and tend to be round instead of the tapering shape of the ordinary plant. Sowing : Sow seeds in summer in a well drained medium. Locality : Bloemfontein. Harvest: May 2020
