Asparagus capensis (Asparagaceae) Asparagus capensis is a dense, spiny shrub with many branched, woody stems growing occasionally to a height of 1 metre. Small needle-like leaves occur in whorls along the stems. The flowers are small, creamy white and aromatic, appearing from autumn to spring. Sowing : The seed should be placed in a suitable sowing medium in a warm spot or with bottom heating of about 25C and kept moist. Locality : Swellendam. Harvest : April 2020
