Description
Avonia herreana (Portulacaceae) It is a tiny branching caudex succulent. The characteristic leaf covering stipules are loosely positioned over the tiny leaves next to the stems, giving the plant a papery, scaly appearance. These papery, scale like stipules protect the plant from the sun and keep moisture close. Sowing : Seed can be sown in spring, summer or autumn in frost-free areas.
