Strumaria spiralis (Carpolyza spiralis) (Amaryllidaceae) A winter growing bulb that like marshy areas. It produses starlike white flowers in autumn. Sowing : The seeds sometimes start to germinate even before they fall. A coarse medium, like river sand is ideal and seedlings must be kept moist. Date of harvest : June 2012. Locality : Calitzdorp.
