Description
Celastrus orbiculatus (Celastraceae) Bittersweet. The Bittersweet is great for autumn, as it puts on its big show. The leaves turn bright yellow and the orange-yellow seed capsules burst open to reveal bright-red seeds inside. A potentially large climber, bittersweet is virtually invisible for most of the year, blending with surrounding foliage. Sowing : Sow seeds in summer. Locality : Ex Hort.
