Description
Dianthus arenarius (Caryophyllaceae). Native to Finland. Quite densely tufted. Height: 10?20 cm. Stem erect?ascending, branchless?sparsely branched, glabrous. Flower: Corolla regular white, approx. 3 cm broad; petals 5, narrow-lobed. Calyx fused, tubular, slightly becoming narrower towards top, 5-lobed, with epicalyx, often violet. Flowers fragrant. Sowing : Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 20-25C.? Cover with peat or sand.? Locality : Ex Hort.
