Description

Dierama pulcherrimum. (Iridaceae)(price per 100 seeds) This perennial has grass-like foliage from which its long, arching flower stems appear. The bell-shaped spring- and summer flowers are pink. The plants reach a hight of 1m. Planting position: Full sun or semi-shade. Ideal for regions with high summer rainfall. Requires regular summer watering, but kept dry during winter. Well-draining soil. Watch out for snail, aphids and slugs. Sowing : Sow seeds in summer. Sow on the surface of moist compost, use a translucent cover to allow light in and to keep the compost humid and warm (do not place in direct sunlight). seeds will germinate anytime in 30-180 days. Locality: Cathcart. Harvest: January 2019
