Description
Dissotis canescens (Melastomataceae) Pink Marsh Dissotis (English); Kalverbossie (Afrikaans); imfeyesele (Zulu). It is a soft wooded deciduous shrub up to 1.5m in height and 1m in spread. The large magente flowers appear in late summer to autumn. They contrast well with the dark green to purplish leaves and reddish stems of the plant. Date of harvest : May 2010. Locality : Pietermaritzburg. Sowing : Sow seeds in spring in a well drained medium.
