Description
Haemanthus montanus (Amaryllidaceae) It is found in grassland and seasonal wetlands in the eastern region of South Africa. It grows in small areas of poorly drained shallow soil. It occurs in dense stands with large cream flowers appearing in mid summer, rapidly followed by two upright leaves. In cultivation can be grown in sun to part shade, moist in summer, dry in winter. Easy in pots. Sowing : Sow as fresh as possible or keep seeds in fridge. Plant by putting seeds on soil and lightly pressing down so that they are halfway covered in the seedling medium. Do not cover further. Locality : Bloemfontein. Harvest : December 2020
