Description
Juncus effusus (Soft Rush) It grows in large clumps about 1.5 metres tall at the water’s edge along streams and ditches. The stems are smooth cylinders with light pith filling. The yellowish inflorescence appears to emerge from one side of the stem about 20 centimeters from the top. Sowing: Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark to stop it from blowing away. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position. Locality: Ex Hort. Harvest: May 2023
