Description
Nolina microcarpa (Asparagaceae) It is an evergreen, grass-like succulent, Nolina microcarpa (commonly known as Beargrass) blooms in early summer with tall spikes clustered at the ends with thousands of tiny white flowers. Deep rooted and very xeric, Beargrass makes an excellent ornamental grass substitute for especially harsh, hot planting sites. Very long lived, plants will eventually form multi-headed specimens on short woody trunks. Sowing : Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position. Locality: Ex Hort. Harvest: January 2020
