Description
Scadoxus multiflorus subsp. multiflorus bulb(Amaryllidaceae). Blood Flower (e), Bloedblom (a) idunjana (z). Hardy, deciduous, bulbous plant with large blade-shaped wavy margined leaves. It bears magnificent, large heads of pinkish-red flowers in late summer. They are followed by very decorative, red berries that are relished by birds. Needs semi-shade and should not be split and moved too often as this affects flowering. An excellent garden and container plant. Plant in well-drained soil. Size 30 to 40cm.
