Common names: Candle thorn, Candlepod Thorn, Trassiebos.

A shrub to a small tree up to 6 m tall. Its branches start very near the ground. The bark is dark grey and flaky. The leaves are small and feathery and the flowers are cream white balls and occur in late winter to spring.

Sowing instructions: Seeds must be soaked in hot water overnight and then sown the next day. Seeds must be sown in a seedling tray filled with seedling soil.
