Adansonia rubrostipa (fony)

It is a deciduous tree with a sparse, irregular, open crown; it can grow from 5 – 20 metres tall. The swollen bole is up to 2 meters in diameter, it can be cylindrical, bottle shaped or, rarely, tapering.

Sowing: Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position.
