Aloe globuligemma (100 seeds)

Out of stock

Aloe globuligemma (Aloaceae). Knoppiesaalwyn (a). An attractive, hardy, drought-resistant stemless Aloe that sometimes forms creeping stems. This Aloe has rather unusual bluish leaves with white prickly margins. The upright leaves are without spots or lines and curve outwards in the upper third. The flower stem is horizontally branched and the flowers are carried upturned, much like Aloe marlothii. Distinctive red globular flower buds turn a dull pinkish-white. Flowers when mature in late winter. This is a beautiful Aloe for semi-shade to full sun areas and makes an exceptional form plant. Size: 1m. Sowing: Seeds germinate very well but may damp off if overwater. Use a mixture of river sand, compost and soil to sow seeds in. Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the surface and cover with a layer of small pebbles. The pebbles help the seedlings to stay upright and prevent damping off. Keep seed tray in a dry warm corner and do not allow to dry out. Transplant the seedlings after one year. Locality: Pietersburg. Harvest : October 2023
