Argyroderma subalbum (Mesembryanthemaceae) It is native to Southern Africa. It forms a round cluster of up to 8 cm diameter. The leaves are fused for two-thirds of their length to form cylindrical, oblong leaf pairs, which taper slightly towards their bases. The flowers are strikingly bright purple. Sowing : Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 20-25°C. Cover with peat or sand. Locality: Olifants River.
