Aristolochia littoralis
Common name: Calico-Flower
Native to Brazil. The Aristolochia Littoralis plant goes by several names, among them the calico flower and the Dutchman’s pipe. A type of woody vine, the calico flower is brilliantly colored with a mottled red and white pattern and a heart-shaped blossom resembling an orchid.
Sowing instructions: Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position.
