Asparagus declinatus. Bridal Veil Asparagus, Weeping Asparagus. A delicate low-growing plant with fine-textured deep soft-green needle-shaped leaves that densely cover slightly-zigzagging slender stems that arch upward then cascade downward. In late spring into summer appear small white drooping flowers that are followed by little spherical berries that turn from green to whitish. Sowing : Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position. Locality: Hermanus. Harvest: November 2023
