Babaiana inclinata (100 seeds)

Family: Iridaceae

It grows naturally in damp clay flats and can reach a height of up to 30mm. The lanceolate leaves are pleated and in a fan shape. Flowers are blue to violet with the suberect lower tepals often and dorsal tepals sometimes cream-colored. The lower tepals have black or reddish marking in the lower third.

Sowing instructions: Seeds are sown in autumn, in deep pots, seed trays or raised seed beds. The seeds should be sown thinly to prevent overcrowding and the development of damping-off fungi, and kept moist by regular watering using a watering can fitted with a fine rose cap. Seedlings should remain undisturbed for two years.

Locality: Porterville. Harvest: December 2024
