Biarum ditschianum (price per 1 seed)
Family: Araceae
Very rare in cultivation. Biarum ditschianum is perhaps the strangest of all the Biarum species. Described to science in the late 1980’s, it is found in just one location from Turkey. Typically flowering in June or July, the inflorescence is small and held at ground level. The spathe is very short indeed and encloses a remarkable, bright yellow and grossly swollen spadix.
Sowing instructions: Sow seeds in a well drained medium.
Locality: Ex Hort. Harvest: August 2024
