Very hardy, evergreen shrub with compound, hairy grey-green leaves and sprays of yellow pea-like flowers in summer. It occurs naturally along streams therefore should be placed where it will get sufficient water in the garden. Plant in full sun or semi-shade for a stunning display of scented, yellow flowers. As part of its natural distribution is in the Eastern Free State, it tolerates very cold conditions. Size 1.5 to 2.5 m, in Gauteng 1 to 2m.
