A fairly hardy plant with a flattened corm and fresh, light green leaves arranged in a fan which die down in late summer and start growing again in Autumn. It bears spikes of narrow tubular orange flowers, all facing in the same direction in wintertime. It is most effective when planted in clumps. Water well in winter, and plant in semi-shade (with sun preferably in the afternoon) in well composted soil. Size 40 to 80cm.
Sowing instructions: Sow seeds as fresh as possible during Autumn.
