Chasmanthe floribunda (Iridaceae). Plants gets up to 100cm high. Corms are large, depressed, with firm-papery tunics, becoming fibrous with age. Stem erect, usually branched. Flowers orange-red, rarely yellow, in two-ranked erect spike. Sowing: Sow seeds in winter. Locality: Caledon. Harvest: December 2023
