Cordia ovalis. Shrub or small tree up to 8 m tall, young branchlets with brownish pubescents. Leaves alternate, blade broadly ovate, obovate or suborbicular, 2.5–9.5 x 1.9–6.7 cm, cuneate to rounded or subtruncate at the base, apiculate to rounded or often emarginate at the apex, entire to slightly crenate, usually very rough above, densely pubescent beneath, lateral veins usually reaching the margin of the leaf, petiole 10–25 mm long. Flowers fragrant, bisexual or rarely unisexual, in dense brownish pubescent inflorescences. Sowing: Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark.
