Crinum “menehune” (live bulb)

 A short herbaceous perennial that grows from bulbs and forms clumps. It is thought to originate from a cross between Crinum amabile and a Crinum species from the Caribbean. The leaves are dark purplish red, glossy, strap-shaped with pointed leaf apex and entire leaf margin (2.5 – 5 cm wide). They have a slightly pleated leaf surface and are arranged in a rosette. Dark pink flowers have 6 narrow, linear petals that are bent backwards and 7 – 8 red, long stamens.
