Cussonia natalensis (Araliaceae) Rock Cabbage Tree (e), Rotskiepersol (a), umGezisa (z). Fairly hardy, deciduous, large, imposing Cabbage Tree that thrives in hot dry areas. It has a thick, corky, fissured bark and beautiful, maple-like leaves which turn yellow in autumn. After the flowers, which appear in autumn it bears purplish, fleshy fruit crowded on spikes that ripen from late winter to spring and are much sought after by birds.
