Cyphia phyteuma. Lobeliaceae. Erect, almost hairless, tuberous geophyte up to 40cm. Leaves slightly toothed in a basal rosette; bears a spiralling (twining), spike-like raceme of almost stalkless flowers, whitish to brown or mauve, 16-20mm long, 2-lipped, with the tube split down the sides; anthers bearded. Sowing: Sow seeds in autumn in a well drained medium. Locality: Clanwilliam. Harvest: February: 2024
