Eriocephalus ericoides. It is a branched evergreen shrub that grows to 1 m. It does not sprout after fires. The young leaves are woolly, old ones hairless. Leaves are small, clustered densely along the branches. Tiny red-purple centre flowerheads lacking ray florets precede the conspicuous white-woolly seeds. Blooming begins in midwinter and continues through spring. Sowing: Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position. Locality: Loxton. Harvest: January 2022
