The small leaf is very peculiar, with upper surface bearing few to several enations (scaly leaflike appendages) mainly towards the margins of varying lengths, crowned with a tuft of 20-30 white hairs. The plants are winter growing with a freely rooting potato-like tuber.
Sowing instructions: Seed germinates rapidly and completely if sown just beneath the soil surface and kept moist. Plant in early autumn in shade and light place.
