Hibiscus tiliaceus (Malvaceae) It is a large, stout, open-branched shrub or small tree with spreading branches. It grows to a height of 3-6 m. Flowers large, showy, up to 120 mm in diameter, yellow with dark maroon or blackish centre, deepen to orange or apricot as they mature. Sowing : Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark to stop it from blowing away.
