Indigofera filifolia. Erect, willowy resprouting, almost leafless shrub up to 3m. Leaves mostly on younger plants and shoots, 6-8-foliolate, sparsely hairy beneath, petioles 4-6cm long. Pink or purple flowers in racemes, on peduncles shorter than leaves, back of standard petal hairless. Pods glabrous, spreading. Sowing : The seeds must first be soaked in hot water, left overnight and planted the next morning in seedling trays. Cover the seeds lightly with river sand and keep moist. Placing a clear glass over the seedling tray can speed up germination. Locality: Hermanus. Harvest: October 2020
