Lachenalia obscura

Lachenalia obscura (Hyacinthaceae) They grow in sandy plains in arid areas which receive winter rain. It has bell-shaped flowers that are cream to brownish blue, sometimes with magenta tips. Sowing: Seed is best sown in autumn in deep seed trays or pots in a sterilized medium of equal parts fine compost or loam, and river sand. Germination should occur within five weeks. Locality: Nieuwoudsville. Harvest: November 2023
