Lobelia chamaepitys. Tufted shrublet up to 30cm, with long, leafy stems branching from the base. Leaves narrow and toothed, about 2cm long; 1-2 smallish, mostly solitary, bright violet-blue flowers, hairless, on wiry light brown leafless stalks. Sowing : Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position. Locality: Kleinmond. Harvest: September 2022
