Loudetia simplex. (Common Russet Grass) Tufted perennial grass, 30 – 150 cm tall; basal leaf sheaths becoming fibrous and usually woolly-tomentose. Culms unbranched. Inflorescence a contracted or open panicle, broadly ovate in outline, with long, wiry branches. Spikelets 8-14 mm long, hairless or tuberculate-setose. Locality: Ex Hort. Harvest: September 2023
