Sceletium tortuosum (Mesembryanthemum tortuosum)

It is a short-lived (with a life span of approximately 3 to 5 years. ) perennial climbing or creeping mesemb. It has characteristic persistent leaf veins that remain on the plant. When the leaves dry out they become “scheletonised”, hence the name Sceletium. The species is readily distinguishable by the imbricate leaves with incurved tips.

Sowing instructions: Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 20-25°C. Cover with peat or sand.
