Millettia grandis (Fabaceae) Umzimbeet. A semi deciduous tree up to 25 m tall with a spreading crown. The attractive Close up of hairy pods flowers which occur in summer are pea-shaped, mauve to purple and held in an upright inflorescence on the ends of the branches. They emerge from rusty brown buds which are formed in spring. Sowing: Pre-soak the seed for 24 hours in warm water and then sow in spring or autumn. Locality: Natal. Harvest: July 2023
