Piaranthus punctatus

Family: Asclepiadaceae

It is one of the most beautiful species, whose flowers differ from all the others by its clearly developed corolla tube. The corolla lobes are broadly lanceolate, pointed, white to ivory-coloured with reddish or brown patches or transverse bands; the upper side has fine, papillous warts. Colour variations occur in the species.

Sowing instructions: Sow seed in spring in a well-drained, light, sandy soil mixed with compost and cover with a thin layer of soil. Keep the temperature at 25-35 °C, in a shaded and fairly moist position. Keep plants well ventilated and in good light to prevent damping off.

Locality: Keimoes. Harvest: July 2024
