Punica granatum nana. (Lythraceae) Dense, twiggy, dwarf tree/shrub with light green, shiny, oblong narrow leaves. Small orange-red, funnel-shaped, five-petaled flowers are followed by leathery-skinned fruit the size of a nutmeg. Needs well-drained soil and full sun. Will do well in a container. Sowing : Seed should be sown in spring or during summer, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark.
