It it has purplish-blue flowers with dark blotches on the rim of the petal cup. It flowers in mid-summer when there is less competition from other plants for pollinators such as the bee visiting this flower.

Sowing instructions: Seed should be sown in autumn, in a well-drained seedling mix, and need only be covered lightly with the sowing mix, clean coarse sand or milled bark to stop it from blowing away. The trays should be kept moist in a warm but shaded position.
