Salvia africana-lutea(Lamiaceae) Beach salvia, Dune salvia, Golden salvia, Bruin- of sandsalie, Geelblomsalie(A). It is a fast growing aromatic shrub that grows up to 2m. The rusty orange to reddish brown flowers appear in spring. The flowers contain a lot of sweet nectar which attracts bees and moths, and acts as an essential food supply for sunbirds. Sowing : Sow seeds in springtime in a well drained medium. Locality : Hermanus. Harvest : December 2021
