Schizolobium excelsum (100 seeds)

Shizolobium excelsum (Fabaceae) Also called Schizolobium parahyba. Native to Brazil. A striking garden tree, with long, feathery, fan-like foliage. It bears semi-erect sprays of bright yellow flowers when the tree is briefly bare of leaves in spring. Quick-growing and quite frost resistant. Sowing : The seeds must first be soaked in hot water, left overnight and planted the next morning in seedling trays. Cover the seeds lightly with river sand and keep moist. Placing a clear glass over the seedling tray can speed up germination. Locality : Ex Hort. Harvest : December 2019
