Seaforthia elegans. (Solitaire Palm) Manageable sized palm with a slim, columnar trunk ringed with old leaf scars. Leaves are borne on short stalks and are 3 to 8 feet long. They are made up of linear, green leaflets with notched tips. Panicles of fragrant, greenish white flowers bloom in summer followed by round, bright red fruit. Also known as Ptychosperma elegans. Sowing: Sow seeds in summer in a well drained medium. Temperature should be above 25 °C. Locality: Ex Hort. Harvest: November 2021
