Very hardy, very fast growing, drought resistant, semi-deciduous shade tree with a willow-like habit. The sprays of inconspicuous flowers (male and female flowers on separate plants, therefore only female plants bear fruit) that attract insects are borne in summer and are followed by bunches of fruit that attract birds. An excellent garden subject, but do not plant near walls, pools, pipes or paving. Size up to 10 m. S.A. No. 396.
Sowing instructions: Sow seeds in summer in a well drained medium. Seeds take 9 days to start germinate.
