The leaves of this tree are variable between three to five leaflets in digitate arrangement. The leaflets are elliptic or obovate in shape, hairy on the lower surface and sometimes on top as well. The flowers are 1 cm in length, occur in axillary clusters, are white or mauve in color with a cup-shaped calyx and a five-lobed corolla.
