Common names: Mexican fan palm.

Its columnar trunk can reach up to 20m tall with a round crown of fan-shaped fronds. Rather than dropping off, dead leaves fold down against the trunk giving it a dense skirt.

Sowing instructions: Sow seeds in summer in a well drained medium.
